Look See Trip

When an employee is relocating to a new country or area, it can prove extremely beneficial for the employee and their family to participate in a Look See Trip, prior to their actual move. The aim of these tours is to allow the employee to visit several areas that (based on their specific requirements) their relocation consultant feels would be suitable places for them to live. We find that this enables us to manage an assignees expectations, answer initial questions and address any concerns that they may have. Depending on the individual’s preferences, Look See Trips can include:

  • One to one consultation between our area specialist and the assignee to discuss their specific needs
  • An accompanied trip to pre-selected areas
  • Sample property viewings
  • Pre-arranged school visits
  • General orientation of areas and amenities
  • Visits to any other specific places of particular interest to the relocating employee, such as supermarkets, transport hubs, places or worship.

Home Search

Finding a new home to be happy in, is crucial to the outcome of a successful relocation. Having discussed the assignee’s needs in detail, our Relocation Consultant will run a professional home search programme, specifically tailored to the assignee, which will include:

  • Initial telephone conversation or meeting to discuss the relocation process, the individual needs of the employee and introduction to the local housing market
  • Advice on local areas, property prices and housing budgets
  • Comprehensive research & sourcing of available properties
  • Tailored viewing schedules compiled
  • Accompanied property viewings with our local relocation expert
  • Utility set up and transfer administration
  • Tenancy management
  • On-going telephone support.

Educational Support & School Search

Ensuring children are happy and settled into good schools can often be of even greater importance to a relocating parent / employee, than where they actually live. It is therefore, yet another critical consideration for relocating families. Our Education Consultant will guide and support families through the educational maze, right up to the point where school places are confirmed. Services include:

  • One to one contact with the assignee/s to discuss the nature of the education system in any given location and how this may relate to the individual education needs of a relocating child
  • Overview of the local education system (State/Private/International)
  • Local school advice
  • Entry requirements for prospective pupils
  • School application assistance
  • Scheduling of school visits
  • Accompanied school visits (as appropriate)

Settling in Services

We know that relocations are most successful when employees feel supported before, throughout and after their move has taken place. We start this work in advance of the move and will continue to work with the assignee and their family, to support them in settling into their new home and location during and after the move. As the needs of all assignees can differ, this service is entirely tailored to the specific requirements of each employee and their family. For this reason, we offer a number of settling in services, including:

  • Guidance and support on setting up TV, telephone and internet
  • Bank account set up
  • Local area information packs
  • Doctor & dentist registration support
  • Information on shopping and leisure amenities
  • Overview of the local transport system and information on driving licences and car registration
  • Family networking support and introductions to local expat groups, sports clubs, and meeting groups, based on existing hobbies and interests
  • Furniture rental

Check in Services

  • Meet and greet assignee at the property and organise key handover
  • Property walk through with assignee, agent and landlord
  • Inventory check
  • Condition report and photographs (essential for deposit protection)
  • Take and report meter readings
  • Gas, Electricity, Water and Council Tax set up and/or transfer
  • Ensuring any outstanding property issues are brought to resolution with managing agent and/or landlord

Departure Services

Something that can often be overlooked is the matter of moving out of and leaving a property. It’s so much more than simply packing and returning the keys and if not handled properly, can become very expensive and problematic, particularly for any company who is liable for a damages deposit. A Vantage Relocation consultant will fully support the departing assignee in managing the process of ending a tenancy, so that they may move on to their next assignment/location, with the comfort of knowing that their departure is being managed professionally. Services include:

  • Undertake end of tenancy arrangements
  • Prepare and serve notice letter
  • Arrange professional cleaning
  • Inventory check out and property inspection
  • Utilities and Council Tax close down
  • Dilapidations negotiation and deposit return
  • Mail forwarding

Tenancy Management

Once assignees are in their new homes, it is important to ensure that they receive ongoing support, wherever necessary. Our Tenancy Management service supports your company and assignees with the day to day management of their property. Vantage Relocation will act as the point of contact between the Tenant and Managing Agent/Landlord and in doing so, will support the Tenant should they experience any problems during the term of their tenancy. We can provide:

  • Management of property related issues
  • Interim property inspections
  • Arranging repairs or maintenance with the Managing Agent/Landlord
  • Tenancy tracking
  • Tenancy renewal negotiation

Serviced Apartments

The importance of ensuring that employees have good quality, comfortable accommodation when they arrive in a new location cannot be underestimated. It undoubtedly helps to smooth any transition process and provides an ideal base whilst your employee settles.

There are many scenarios where serviced apartments provide the perfect answer for your temporary accommodation needs. It may be that your employee needs to begin their new job before their home search program can be undertaken or completed, and their longer term accommodation secured, or they may simply be on a short term assignment.

Whatever the situation, serviced apartments are as easy to book as a hotel room and represent a great value alternative. They are fully equipped and furnished, inclusive of utility bills and wi-fi, include the provision of cleaning and linen services and provide an employee with a “home from home” environment. The assignee will get the benefits of living in an entire apartment as opposed to a hotel room and companies benefit from a more settled employee and reduced overall costs compared to hotel stays.
